Whole HVAC system flow

An HVAC plant is three systems working together: air, chilled water and steam. The picture shows where each piece of equipment sits, and the flow diagram shows which way the air, water and steam move.

Note: the picture does not tell the supply header (18) from the return header (19), so the rear one is marked as supply and the front one as return. The exhaust louver (13) is drawn next to the exhaust fan rather than on the outer wall.Equipment and roles describe a typical HVAC plant; the actual configuration differs from site to site.
